STRIKE SETTLED

AT CARILLON JOB. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 2d. The strike of the general labourers who were last week. employed on the earthworks of the approaches to the Carillon at Mount Cook, ended this afternoon, in a settlement. The terms of the settlement provide that the married strikers are to resume work on the job (with men at present employed there); and are to he paid the award rates for a five-and-a-half days a week. The work is still to remain a relief job, and the Unemployment Board is to pay for four days, and the Board Trustees of the National Art Gallery and the Dominion Museum for the other day and a-half (without subsidy).
