RADIO PROGRAMME

MONDAY, MARCH 16th

The vocal portion of 2YA’s programme this evening will he undertaken by Signor Lucien Cesaroni and his talented company who will provide a splendid variety of numbers, many of them with orchestral accompaniment. Signor Cesaroni will sing “The Two Grenadiers,” “Bedouin Love Song,” “Star of Eve,” “Song of the Elea,” and “The Calf of Gold.”

The Christchurch Municipal Band under Conductor J. Noble, will provide the evening’s concert from 3YA. The assisting vocalists will he: Miss' Nellie Billcliff (mezzo-soprano), Mrs S. AY. Williamson (contralto of. Kaikoura), Mr J. Haydn Williams (tenor) and Mr Bert Goodland (humorist). The hand will present a well varied programme including, in view of it being the eye of St. Patrick’s Da.V, Ord Hume’s “Gems of Irish Melodies” and the old favourite, “Londonderry Air.” A programme of light music will he provided by Pettitt’s Sextet at 4YA. The items will include selections from “The Cabaret Girl” and “Katinka”. Some popular vocal artists will contribute to the evening’s entertain-; monk: Miss Lucy Janets (contralto, one of 4YA’s new artists), Miss Helen Roy (mezzo-contralto), Miss Freda Elines (soprano), Mr A. Snell (baritone) and Mr Geo. Crawford (tenor). Silent day at IYA. TUESDAY, MARCH 17Ui. This being St. Patrick’s Day, there will he appropriate broadcasts from IYA; 2YA and 4YA. lYA’s concert will be devoted to music and humour of the Emerald Isle. An Irish concert to he given in the Wellington Town Hall will be broadcast by 2YA. 4YA will be carrying out a relay from Gore—a three-act comedy drama, “My Irish Rose,’’ to be produced bv a strong cast under the direction of Airs Molly O’Sullivan, F.T.C.L.
