As tile ChWertior-CiehertU and party drove down Moles Worth Street, they were subjected to a demonstration by a group on the 'footpath, who also counted out and jeered the Regimental Band, but they allowed to pass in silence the Wellington College Cadets, who marched past with fixed bayonets.
After the Guard of Honour had disappeared, one ot the demons!ratots started to address the crowd in the Parliament Grounds on the subject of th e wage reductions.
DURATION OF SESSION. WELLINGTON, March Vl. Asked to-day if lie adhered to his former estimate of three weeks for disposing of the business of Parliament, Mr G. W. Forbes replied that he hoped to see the work ended In time to enable Parliament to adjourn until the usual date of the summoning of Parliament in June. He said no committees would be appointed this session. THE LABOR CONFERENCE. DEPUTATION TO PRIME MINISTER. WELLINGTON, March 11. Tile Alliance of Labour Conference, which is being attended by 165 delegates, continued their discussion today upph the proposals which the "Trade Unions wiil put into effect if the Government persists iii carrying out the wage reductions. After the conference it was announced that a deputation will wait upon the Prime Minister to-morrow.
