The United States State Department lias decided that the United States shall not participate in the 'coming World Wheat Conference at Rome. At Washington the Department of Agriculture lia s issued a report stating that the wheat stocks on American farms on March Ist were 160,282,000 bushels. At the same time the percentage of the previous 'year’s wheat crop shipped, or to be shipped, out of the country, was 59.4 per cent. The supply of farm labour on March Ist .was reported to be 111.8 per cent, normal for the United States as a whole: t There were approximately 164 men for . every hundred jobs available/, ’which r’wvas a decline from the record high raio Of 171.8 per cent, on February Ist.
