FIRE AT STRATFORD

Lansdale's coifi eet. ionery. premises at Strafoi'ti were dost 1 oyed by lire at an eariy hour tliis moiiimg. Airs F. M. Loose’s eonleetioiicry was seriously damaged. File first mentioned places were owned by -I. K. Ameshury, and were wooden ones. They blazed furiously. Walker's stock and lilting.-, were insured for I'o.HOO, Mrs Lansdale’s for €7OO, and Al.rs Loose's for L’3so. The crackling of the lire wakened persons occupying the nearby premises. 4he Fire Brigade found the three premises under one roof a mass of flames at the hack, and before the conflagration was under control, the two shops had been reduced to ashes, and the third gutted. The strenuous work of file Brigade prevented the lire from spreading ifuriher in a continuous line of buildings.
