Frank Brace, chief ( lerk at the State Mine, for theft of £l2(> os Idd was sentenced to twelve months reformative detention. Gregory O’Neill for bigamy received two years probation. SOLICITOR SENTENCED. HAMILTON. V larch G. Athol Eeilding Howarth (45). a solicitor of Te Kuiti for theft: of trust moneys of nearly a thousand pounds, was sentenced to reformation detention for four years. His Honour said be had used the money in his own speculations. There was no possible excuse for liis actions. It was mm h better for a solicitor to go bankrupt than to misappropriate trust moneys.
