WELLINGTON DISTRESS. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 27. Further representations on behalf of the unemployed in Wellington, were made to the Prime Minister and Minister of Labour to-day by a deputation representing the Wellington Trades and Labour Council. Reference was made to the plight of a number of men; and the Government was asked what it intended to do to meet the situation. The Minister of Labour intimated that he would be seeing the Mayor of Wellington That day, and hoped ’it would be possible to arrange for all the men to be absorbed. The Prime Minister said that every effort was being done by the Government to overcome the difficulty,' but there was a certain responsibility on local bodies.
