BUSH FIRES
RACING IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA. (Australian Press Association.) (Received 8.40 a.m,) ADELAIDE, February 26. Bush fires are raging in the. Kulipo Forest, Meadows,-'Prospect Hill } Nang, kitu, Mount Compass, and the Bulls Creek district. It it believed they started on the property of 4?ir Douglas Mawson, at Blackwood gully. The hardwood mill at Kulipo was razed, also one near Meadows where the damage is estimated at fifteen thousand. A band of three hundred beaters were driven before a fierce wall of flames and had to flee for their lives. Some working singly were cut off and surrounded by fire being rescued with difficulty. Many settlers’ homes were destroyed.
