ANDERSON MURDER

TRIAL OF COLSTON. FURTHER EVIDENCE. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) HAMILTON, February 26. The fourth day of the trial ot Charles Colston, (38), tor alleged murder of .Mrs Anderson at National Park on January 6th. was entered on to-day. The first witness to-day was Detective Walsh of Wanganui, who has charge of the investigation. He said the first person he interviewed was Air* Tolley. He then went out to the scene of the tragedy, accompanied by Sergt. Sawyer, Constable Parker ana two boys, Tolley and Storr. He fouria a gun behind the woodshed. Ho searched for it there in consequence of what Mrs Tolley told him. It bad tlm appearance of having recently been fired. The fore end of the gun was missing. Witness described the house as a four roomed cottage, constructed of corrigated iron, lined with conger board. The place was very scantily furnished, and the whole place was untidy.
