AMMON RA. GELDING PURCHASED BY AUSTRALIAN. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 22. New Zealand’s leading two-year-old, Ainmo n Ra, has' been sold to go to Australia, and he will be shipped to Sydney by the Ulimaroa on, March 6th. The purchaser is Mr C. C. Sheath, formerly of Auckland, but now of Sydney. The purchase price has not been disclosed, but it is believed to have been a very substantial one. Negotiations for the purchase wefe commenced some days ago, and after Ammon Ra had been inspected by Mr Sheath and Dr. W. C. Ring at Takanmi yesterday, the deal was finally completed. N.Z. JOCKEY ON TOP. MELBOURNE, February 23. The former New Zealand jockey, Ashley Reed, now heads the list of Melbourne winning riders. His total comprises 26 wins, 14 seconds, and ll£ thirds. W.
