MR SCULLIN REPORTS. (Australian Press Association.) (Received 10.5 a.in.) MELBOURNE, February 25. After a four hours Cabinet meeting Mr Scullin was reticent. He denied that the Ministry was likely to accede to the demand for a reduction of public service salaries', remarking that the suggestions tliercanent, were mere kite flying. He declared that the Cabinet meeting was not an emergency one. but was called merely to discuss the financial situation. He also declined to say whether Mr Beasley was invited. Mr Scullin said lie had not heard of a circular letter sent by the New South Wales Australian Labour Party, urging States and Federal labourites to support the Lang plan, adding that lie could not say if lie would take action thereon. It is rumoured that the Government will agree to the banks demand for a reduction of civil servants salaries and allowances, but will suggest postponing for one year the question of cutting out the Bill for old age, invalid and war pensions.
