RISING IN PERU

PERU REBELS. [United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. ) At LIMA, (Peru), Feburary 22. Aeroplanes and reservists'were mobilised to-day, to quell an uprising in Southern Peru that is menacing the Government of Provisional-President Cerro. With a strict censorship effective, it is impossible to confirm reports stating that the entire southern half of the country is in revolt, but the Government have admitted that the city of Arequipa was captured by the revolting troops on Friday night. Several loyal officers were killed in defence of the city. Troops are now marching on Arequipa to crush the rebellion.
