SHIP STRANDED
IN NEW PLYMOUTH HARBOUR. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, February 22. . The motor vessel (Haurekii. grounded while being berthed at New Plymouth on Saturday morning on the east side of tbe Newton King Wharf, which is seldom used by overseas ships but which was brought into commission at this week-end owing to a large number of big ships being in port or expected. A diver, on investigation, found a fractured plate under No. 2 tank. Oil from the No. 5 tank had apparently been escaping, and had risen to the top of the water. The mishap is no{ ; considered serious.
The ship will probably discharge and proceed to Auckland on Tuesday, according to schedule. She is expected to go into dry dock at Auckland for inspection and repairs.
