KOKATAHI SALE. IMPROVED PRICES. Yesterday's fixture at the above yards attracted a large attendance of buyers and they were rewarded with an excellent entry of all round prune stock and Home attractive lines o. stores. Competition was good throughout and in only a lew instances were offerings passed. Vendors were in most eases, ready to meet the market and as this lactor became evident? ready sales were made in many cases above reserves. A notable feature oi the sale was the abnormal yarding ot young cattle, priiiciaptly calves and these showed a distinct advance in prices. Eat cattle made equal to Arahura. In the sheep section an. excellent finished pen of 9 lambs made 21/-, these were from P. B- Eleslan’s farm and the price it is safe to say, is the highest this season for the Dominion. Horses were unsaleable.
W. Jeffries and Co. report an entry of 494 head of cattle, 4 horses and 224 sheep and lambs and the following sales were made : For P. H. Heslan, 9 lambs at 21/-, 2 steers at £5, 1 springer at £4/15/-. For N. Harris 27 hoggets at 15/3, 10 owes at 14/-, 13 lambs at 12/-. For H. Monk 21 weaners at 14/6, 4 ewes

ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. (71// Tch‘.ijrnph—Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, February 18. There was a medium yarding of fat cattle, poor m quality. Heavy steers were linn, also good light cows and heifers. Best heavy steers sold £l4 ids to L" 15 15s, prime £ll 10s to £l2 12s 6d. medium £7 10s to £9, plain from C 5. Best heavy cows sold to C,_ 2s (id, heavy £8 to £9 10s, prime handiwelgh’t £5 15s to £7 ss. medium £3 10s to £5, plain from C2 10. Best heavy heifers sold to £ll 17s (Id, prime £7 fo C 8 ss. medium £4 5s to £5 10s, plain from £4. There was a medium yarding of adult sheep, chiefly from the North Island and Kaikoura. Best two-tooth ewes had a good demand, while four six, and eight-tooths were selling at late rates. Potters sold from 1-s 2d.
There was a large yarding of fat sheep, with some outstanding consignments. Prices were steady at export rates. Best wethers sold 15s to 17s 7d, prime Ids to 15s, light Os to 12s 6d plain from (is (id. Bset ewes sold to 9s !od, medium Ss to Os Pd, light 5s (kl to 7s (id, inferior from'"3s-6d. There was a large yarding of fat lambs of good quality. The market was steady at schedule rates. Best heavy lambs sold to 18s 4d, prime 15s "d to 1 fis fid, medium 13s fid to 15s, plain 10s fid to 13s, light from 8s fid. There was a larger yarding of store lambs. Coarse woolled sorts improved and finer wools were firm. There was a
large nereentage of inferior quality yarded. 'flier** was a. larger yarding of fat. pigs, best porkers selling freely at an advance on late rates. Bacnners were heavy ltd Is to £3 Is; light haeonors easier. Porkers fetched 2os to 335, £3 7s to t'2 12s, heavy £2 13s t<> £3 10s ; choppers to £3. Store pigs showed no change in values.
