A NEW STATE

' Launching a campaign for a new State in the northern portion of N.S.W., Doctor Earle Page, former Federal Treasurer and loader of the Country Party, in a speech at Ob uroagh to-night, said farmers couid ;m longer submit to flic insidious domiua.tou of the extreme labour element in Sydney. He declared if New South Wales Government defaulted to bond holders as intended, this State would automatically put itself outside the Federal T T nion. Mr licng would be unable to obtain further < mbit ir nn the banks and lie would have to adopt some emergency form of currency. The people in the north had .no desire to be associated with 3lr Long's dishonourable repudiation scheme, nnn were preparing to cut »,drift from NovSouth Wales. They intended to ' pipeal to the Federal Government for recognition as a State under the federal Union and for a provisional Government, pending an adjustment oi boundaries, liability and- parliamentary sanction. An aopeal would also lie made to the British Government for assistance in carrying out their object under the Separation A.cl 1830.
