LABOUR FACTIONS

CONFERENCE PROVES FRUITLESS (Australian Press Association.) (Received this day at 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, February 16. The conference of representatives ot rival labour factions to decide the financial policy for presentation to east Sydney electors was abortive. Those present included : —Messrs Soullin, Theodore, Lang, Forgan-Smith (Queensland), Graves (New South Wales), State of the Australian Labour Party. The meeting lasted all yesterday, and when it broke up last evening it was announced there was nothing for publication. Tt is understood, however, Staite leaders opposed any compromise so no agreement was reached. Mr Graves said it could be taken ,that Air Lang's financial policy would serve as the Party's platform lor east Svdnev by-eleotion.
