CYCLE RACES
COOKS WIN DOUBLE. The Cycling Club promoted the first of the Hillman Cup series of road races to be held for this valuable trophy. The course was to the Longford Hotel and back, a distance of about 20 milesA boy’s race to Kanieri and back was run in conjunction. 'I lie weather conditions were ideal with a slight westerly breeze. There was a very marked improvement in the times in both races, the Cook brothers winning the double. C. Pfhalert was put out of tin* race by a punctured front tyre. The results were:— BOYS RACE. C. Cook (30sec.), 17min. lOsec., Ist. J. Honey (scr.) 17min. 20see., 2nd. I. Olsen (30sec) 17min. oOsee., 3rd. Also started. H. Newev 90see. GILLAIAN CUP RACE. E. Cook (2min.) Time 52)nnn. Ist. R.
