CREATING EMPLOYMENT. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, February 12. Hopes for the early absorption of fifty thousand unemployed were held out at the meeting of the Unemployment, Relief Council. Referring to the fact that Federal expenditure exceeding the revenue by £11.487,000 Air Scullin said this did not represent the real financial position, and pointed out praticallv all receipts from income and land taxes were still to come in. and he hoped the revenue from the sales tax would improve in the next few months.
