NOT SO BAD. We still do not believe that this economic crisis is as serious as that in tlie ’eighties. New Zealand recovered from those bad times, and with courage and resolution she will weather these. Mr Forbes is about to give another lead to the country. He may have to ask it to make considerable sacrifices, but be may also point to brighter economic prospects as making his task easier. —Auckland Star.
