The possibility of the Census and Statistics Office taking a census of the Hawke’s Bay district was placed before the Minister of Internal Affairs. Hon. Mr tie la Perrelle said that nothing could be done until something like normality was reached again, but the Department would certainly explore the possibilities of a census.
