MUNICIPAL BAND

ANNUAL MEETING

I he annual meeting of the Hokitika -Municipal Band was held last night. Mr C. B. Ross was voted to the chair.

The Treasurer (Mr Jas. Stapleton) read the balance sheet which showed a credit balance of £62 which is highly satisfactory. The usual bonuses wore passed to the Secretary, Treasurer and Caretaker.

All officers were re-elected, viz: Conductor, Air C. Af. Rbss; Bandmaster, Mr W. Iv. Richards; Secretary, Mr A. K. Good; Treasurer, Mr .ian. iSt-apl-eton; .Band Sergeant, Mr A. Parlchill; Librarian, Mr R. Roberts; Caretaker. Mr. D. McLeod; Committee, Messrs Richards, P. Ross, G. Raine, R. Roberts.

A hearty vote of thanks was recorded to Mr and Mrs R. Ross and daughters for the hospitality provided for the band on ’Ninas morning. The formal business having been disposed of. an hour’s conviviality was indulged in, when toasts were honoured and felicitous speeches made, the whole concludin'!- with the singing of the National Anthem,

The Oinducbn' was requested to convey the thanks of the band to Mrs Ross (his wife-1 for providing an ample supply of dainty edibles.
