GOVERNOR GENERAL’S VISIT CURTAILED,

Advice was received last night that the Governor General, Lord JUetHsloe, and party are curtailing their visit to South Westland, owing to the Hawkes Bay disaster, and that they were to leave Wailio this morning, being due to arrive at Hokitika this evening about 6 o’clock. The Vico Regal party will stay at the Red Lion Hotel to-night, leaving to-morrow morning for Christchurch.
