TRADES PEOPLE’S MOVE. (By Telegraph —Per Press Association ) WELLINGTON, February 3. Influenced by tbe recent announcement that tbe Banks are charging full rates of exchange on Australian silver coinage in New Zealand, a number of tradespeople are refusing to accept such currency in payment of goods or service. Inquiries show the banks are not charging exchange on Australian silver coins of an amount less than forty shillings. Australian silver coins are minted in the Royal Mint, and Australian branches, and are clearly legal tetnder in New Zealand for payment of amounts up to forty shillings.
