BULLET PROOF

NEW KIND OF GLASS

LUnited Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.]

LONDON,. February I.

A bullet-proof glass has been invented in Britain. The patent has been purchased by a French syndicate, which is producing the glass on a huge scale. It is made by the AcctcxJohuston process, consisting of two thin sheets with a. product of acetone pressed between them. Tests showed that the glass is stronger than any existing French product. Rifle and revolver bullets failed to do more than to flank a small amount of the glass near the surface. The French Minister of AVar is interested in the invention, and may use the glass as loopholes for gunshields and for tank windows.
