A ROYAL LOVER
STICKING TO HIS BRIDE. IN SPITE OF KING’S REFUSAL. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). (Received 12.30 p.m.) STOCKHOLM, February 2. Despite the disapproval of the King, the Prince, cabled on Friday, officially announced his engagement. This coincides with the official communique which pointed out the constitution forbids marriage withou* consent. In consequence Prince Lennart will lose all his rights-as a Swedish Prince. .It is probable he will be known in future as Mr Lennart Wilhelmson. He will also lose Castle Majnau, Lake Con. stance, valued at seventy-five thousand sterling and certain jewellery. Nevertheless the Prince has a considerable personal fortune 'The whole country lias taken sides in the controversy and is anxiously awaiting the next move in the drama. Few dared to predict that the Prince would so flagrantly oppose the King. It is expected that he and his bride will depart from Sweden and he married abroad.
