THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES
AIR, SCULLIN’S BLUNDER. The Prime Minister of Australia is undoubtedly an honest man, and no one seriously questions the goodness of his intentions. But many people have doubted the soundness of his judgement, and their suspicions on this score have been amply confirmed by the false step that he has taken in regard to -Mr Theodore. To call Air Scull in’s action injudicious is to use words that give but an inadequate idea of its possible outcome. For two of Air SenUin’s ablest lieutenants have alreadv resigned or have threatened t () withdraw from the Alinistry hv way of protest, and the immediate result of the inclusion of Air Theodore in the Cabinet may he the division and defeat of the Labour Government. —Auckland paper.
