DISASTER AVERTED
ATTEMPT TO WRECK EXPRESS. I United Press Association —By Klcctn Telegraph.—Copyright. 1 VIENNA, February 2. An attempt to wreck the OstendVieniia express was discovered in the nic-K of time to save the train, which was carrying hundreds of passengers, from plunging over a steep enbankment in tho Vienna forest. The driver, luckily sighted the obstruction when travelling at, seventy miles an hour, and pulled up on the brink of disaster. The engine was derailed but nobody was hurt! The obstruction consisted of a vice clamping a piece of rail to the line. It. is believed the object was a hold-up on “Wild West” lines.
