WANGANUI, January 29. Boh Asker Barnett, aged 21. a pillion rider, on a motor-cycle ridden by Frank Edward Lapliam, aged 18. was killed when the machine skidded and crashed on loose metal on St .John’s Mill to-day. Lapliam sustained minor injuries, and was admitted to the Hospital. Barnett was concerned in a motor-eyi-fi. smash a fortnight ago. when he received minor injuries, and was discharged from the hospital the following day.

DUNEDIN, January 29. In his replies to a. deputation of the Lawrence district to-day, the Minisier ol Aimes and Agriculture (Hon. A. J. Murdoch), made no definite statement regarding the Government’s future ponev, a subject which he consistently avoided. He made more than

When a deputation of farmers urged a ieduction in the wages paid for .reliel work, and also urged the abolition ol the Arbitration Court, the Alinistei said that these were matters which would he dealt with by Air Forbes at an early date.
