ALLEGED POISONING
CHARGE AGAINST FARMER EMPLOYEE.
(By Telegraph —Per Press Association) TE AWAMUTA, January 128. Echvard James Walsh appeared at ■Court rhis morning, to answer a •Large of doing grievous bodily harm to James Allen Burns, a farmer of Uangapikoi, about four miles from Tc Awamutu. He was remanded for a fortnight. It was stated that Burns, who employs Walsh, suspected yesterday that he had been poisoned, and went to a neighbour in a state of serious illness. The neighbour called a doctor, who diagnosed strychnine poisoning. Deniedial steps were taken and Burns is now out of danger. Constable Rinimer was summoned to investigate, and found poison in the remains of the breakfast lood taken by Burns. Walsh was subject to questioning and was subsequently arrested. There were only the two men on the farm.
