Harikishen, a young Punjabi, was sentenced to death at Lahore for the murder of Ghanan Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, and was sentenced to life transportation for the attempted murder of the Punjab Governor, and Budsingh Wadawari. a detective in the Punjab University Hall. The jury found the accused guilty on all three charges, but made a recommendation for mercy on account of his youth, which was not accepted by the Judge.
