OVERDUE YACHT.

YACHTMEN’S OPINION'

WELLINGTON, January 27. The yacht •‘Windward” from Chatham Islands has now been out en loute for Wellington 21 days and naturally there is a certain amount of anxiety, but yachtsmen do not consider there is any need for uneasiness at the present time. There has been a fairly consistent northerly for the last- week or two. but meteorological opinion consider i t will ve a r round to southerly during the next 24 hours and tend to bring the yacht back oil its course, if she has been blown off it.

The “Tees,” which sails from the Chathams to-morrow for Lyttelton has been asked by the Meteorological and Marine Departments to keep a sharp lookout for the “Windward.”

The identity of a man who was knocked down on the Main South Road Huntiy, and died in Waikato Hospital, is believed to be Herman James Furey aged 4.1, a Public Works employee, of Auckland.
