ARAHURA STOCK SALE, Yesterdays fixture at the .ajbove yards was attended by the. usual buyers who had apparently considered the . hew order of things recently originated by the Auctioneers Association in their interest also, A total yarding of 68 head of cattle, 60 fat sheep and 10 lambs were penned and , for. these competition was strictly in accord with last weeks Addington rates, beyond which butchers were not prepared to go and in consequence passings were frequent. Best ox beef made to 32s 6d. Medium to 30s. Heifer beef to 27s 6d and cow beef to 2os. The drop in mutton was very noticeable and wethers were sold on the basis of 4d lb. A small pen of lambs sold well. W. .Jeffries and 'C-o. Sold as foblows :—lO lambs at 14s 6d. 20 fat wethers at 16s, 29 wethers at los, 20 ewes at 13s, 2 bullocks at £l3 17s od, 2 bullocks at £l3, 2 bullocks at £lO, 2 bullocks at £8 2s Od, 2 heifers at £8 17s 6d, 2 heifers at £8 10s, 2 cows at £7 17s 6d, 1 heifer at £9 2s 6d, 2 at £8 12s 6d, 3 cows at £7 10s.
ARAHURA FAT STOOK SALE. Messrs M. Houston and Co. report: —At the usual sale at the above yards yesterday our entry consisted of 25 head of fat cattle which were offered to a small attendance of buyers. Competition was not at all keen, owing to the fact that several butchers had .supplies on hand, and also on account of the heavy drop in at last Addington sale. Ox beef realised 32s •per hundred, heifer beef 30s and cow beef from 20s to 25s per Hundred. We sold as follows: On account of W. A. Jamieson 2 cows at £7 17s 6d, 2 at £8 2s 6d, 2 hlk at £9 15s, 3 cows at £6, 2 at £5 15s, 2 bullocks at £ll. 3 cows at £5 10s, 6 bullocks and 3 cows passed in. On account of A. Bradley 1 heifer at £5 7s 6d.
