SLUICING FATALITY
THREE LIVES LOST,
(Australian Press Association) HOBART, January 20
Two men and a boy lost their lives through a- fall of earth at Williamsi'ord. The men were sluicing for gold in a, face o* imi.se wash, about twenty feeL deep, when they were buried beneath about 20 tons of earth. The bodies were recovered.

A BITTER. ATTACK

A bitter attack on financial institutions was made by Premier Lang, when addressing the Country Labour Conference at Parkes. He said unless within the next three or fourTiiontns the Government of Australia have found a meaTis of breaking through the financial not that, \enmoskod them, every Government will he broken.
Referring to Hon. Reginald McKenna’s remarks, cabled during last week, Mr Lang said we agree with Air McKenna that salvation can only come through the adoption cf some other form of currency. Sooner or later, this problem must be faced by the Australian Governments
