THE RAILWAY RETURNS. The most recently issued returns of the revenue and expenditure of the railways system of the Dominion admit Of a comparison of the figures for a period that covers about eight months of the financial year. They are of a character which even the Minister of Railways, who generally attempts to put a good face on the results of the operation of the system, must find somewhat depressing. They show that there lias been an all-round reduction of traffic on the railways.
