There is unusual interest among swimmers in an endurance contest timt is beginning at four o’clock to-mor-row at the -Manly Baths. There art sixty competitors, including Miss -Mercedes Gleitze, and Alis.s Billy Coj)plestone, from New Zealand. 4he prize money is five hundred sterling, and it lias already been lodged by tiie .Mayor o 7 Manly. J lie competitors will not be allowed to leave the water under any circumstances. They will lie fed by their friends while submerged to the neck. They must not receive any kind of assistance. It is expected that a full week will elapse before the winner is determined.
