NEW YORK, January 22
A message from Newhaven, Connecticut, states that, although its directors assert that the firm is solvent, the Winchester Arms Company, which has taken a leading part in the manufacture of weapons and munitions in the United States since the Civil War went into a receivership, this being due to various embarrassments caused by the current, depression.
