REMARKABLE ESCAPE
WOMAN’S FALL FROM TRAIN
TORN DRESS AND BRUISES

AUCKLAND, January 21
A remarkable escape from serious injury was experienced by an elderly woman who fell between the platform and a train at the Manurewa station this morning.
The train, which started at Papakura and arrived at Auckland at 10.15, slopped at .Manurewa about 9.30. Alter it had started the woman attempted to get oil. but she fell between the platioim and the carriage. The guard signalled the engine-driver, and (lie train was pulled up in six feet, before the back wheels conk! pass over the woman.
Except for a lew slight bruises on the arms, the woman was not hurt. Her dress was torn, but she appeared to think so little of the happening that she walked away without attention ol any kind.
