CANTERBURY v. COMBINED DISTRICT.
The tennis match on the Hokitika Clubs Courts between a Canterbury beam and a Hokitika district team is taking place to-day under excellent conditions, though there was a slight shower at nooii. There was a large mini her of onlookers and the play was closely followed, a good exhibition being given. Tire following results are available, Canterbury players being mentioned first:— MEN’S SINGLES. Woodward 9 beat Dougherty 3. Howard 8 lost to Hayward 9. Tillman 9 heat Teller 2. MENS DOUBLES*. Tillman and Pierce 9 beat Hayward and Larco’ube -I. LADIES SINGLES.
