AMUSEMENTS.

EVERYBODYS PICTURES.

TO-NIGHT AND SATURDAY

“CHARMING SINNERS.”

ALL TALKING

‘‘Sauce for the gander is sauce for the goose,” and “Charming Sinners,” W. Somerset Maugham’s clever drama of domestic re-arrangement, ‘which Paramount has made into an all-talk-ing picture, proves that a woman has often the best of the argument in a battle of wits with her husband. Ruth Chatterton, Clive Brook, William Powell, and Mary Nolan carry the leads in this clever picture which will feature the Princess Theatre programme, to-night and Saturday. The story of “Charming Sinners” has to to do with a new treatment for philandering husbands. Ruth Chatterton. as the wife, applies her unique remedy in a smart way that leaves a smile all-round, even with the defeated husbands. Clive Brook has a rare role, and he handles it in delightful fashion For once lie steps out of the tragically serious character into a part which gives free play to all the interesting whimsicalities of which he is capable. William Powell, as the “other” man, and Mary Nolan in the role of the infringer, are strong supporters of the two -wGil-known leads. Miss Nolan carries the part of a frothy, lightheaded,* .but-altogether charming, bit of flirtatious womanhood with consummate skill. Laura Hope Crews, Florence Ehlridge, of “The Studio Murder Mystery” cast, and Montagu Love are in tlie group of players. "Robert Milton, for years one of the biggest stage show producers on Broadwhy, and recently appointed director by Paramount, directed “Charming Sinners;’! The situations over-run with amusing incidents and pantomine, especially that of Clive Brook, will bring many a hearty laugh. Also a good supporting 'programme. Prices, 3/-, 2/-, plus tax.
