TOKIO, January 20

The Japanese Diet has resumed. Interest centres in a Government Bill

for the legalising of trade unions, which measure is strongly opposed by the capitalists, they alleging sinister aims on the part ot Labour. The Government reiterates its determination to introduce the Bill, contending that the right of workers to have unions is now universally acknowledged.
