LAUNCH CAPSIZES
SEVEN ABOARD DROWNED. (United PrPss Aftnot-inc/inn - "Rv Electric Telegraph—Copyright). SUVA, January 21. Overtaken by a squall in Vitilevu Bay, an Indian launch, Sitaram, with twenty-eight passengers, er. route from Suva to Lautoka, capsized and seven were drowned. The launch was afloat for ten minutes before it sank. Of the Indian passenger's a few who could swim clung to a raft and were rescued. Another launch saw the disaster, .Nineteen bags- of | letter parcel mail from the Niagara’s cargo were lost in seventeen fathoms. The launch was licensed, hut seventeen passengers are alleged to have' exceeded the .number. A poljfce uinquiry is proceeding. Three bodies were recovered and the others are believed to be in the launch.
