One of the most poignant tragedies of Burma rebellion occurred at a wayside station at Zibyugon. A party ot fifty at midnight surrounded and entered the quarters of a young Bengali station-master Dey. His young Burmese wife begged for Her husband’s life on her knees and offered her woi Idly possessions and jewels worth threehundred rupees. The rebels took the jewellery and dragged Dey to the platform, raided the safe and stole two hundred rupees. They cut the telegraph wires and forced Dey on his knees and hacked him to pieces, despite the frantic appeals of his wife in their own language.
