LANCASHIRE COTTON CRISIS

LONDON, January 14. Officials of the Ministry of Labour conferred with both sides to the dispute in the cotton industry in Lancashire to-day, an effort being made to secure a settlement before Monday, when a wide extension of the stoppage is threatened.
BRITISH COAL TROUBLE. THE WELSH STOPPAGE. LONDON, January 14. The conference in which Hon. Mr Graham (President of the Board of Trade), and Mr Shimvoll (Under-Sec-retary for Labour), are taking part to find a basis lor renewed negotiations between the South Wales coal owners and miners, was continued all day at London.
