PAHIATUA, January 16
An eight roomed residence owned and occupied by Alt rteange , was completely destroyed by lire early this morning. The occupants escaped in their night attire, the insurances on the house toeal £“O3, and oil me iarid tare £SOO.
BOARDING HOUSE FIRE. NAPIER, January 16
The boarding house known as “Beach House ’ on tlie Marine Parade, a single storey building of twenty rooms, was partially destroyed by fire which originated in the back premises in the early hourt* of this morning. The Napier brigade made an excellent save of the front section of the building, but the back part was practically completely destroyed. The building, which wan owned by Mrs W. Bott and occupied by Mrs J. Hay, was insured for £1,600 in the London Office. The contents were covered for £<so and £2OO in the Alliance Office.
