SEVEN INJURED

NEW PLYMOUTH, Jan. 8
Seven, were injured when a large car somersaulted three times heal Pa tea) in endeavouring to pass a small ear. Alice Hodge, aged 21, dauglitei of Sam Hodge of Alton, farmer, fractured her skull, arid her condition is serious. t Het 'sister Phyllis, aged.Jß, is in a fairly serious condition with a fractured (lollarhune. A. third sister, Annie, aged 1", was gashed in the leg. Guy Handcnbard, aged 25, of Alton, and Henry Apaturie, aged 17, of Palmerston North, both suffered concussion and. cuts. Marie Thomson, aged 18, of Haetn hi, suffered aihraisions. Sam. Hodge, the driver, had his head cut and his hands lacerated. Hodge had been trailing a small car which refused to give way. In an endeavour to pass, Hodge s care skidded. somersaulting, and landed on its wheels, the occupants being thrown a little distance. The small c-ar ■ disappea red.
