CRICKET DISPUTE
QUE ENSLAXD ASSOCIATION
(Australian Press Association)
(Received this dav at 12.26. p.m.) BRISBANE, January 8.
Despite the announcement that the executive of the Queensland Cricket Association has deferred taking any action in the. dispute between players and State selectors until after the conclusion of the third test, the omission of Goodwin, secretary of the committee that- was famed to conduct the dispute with State selectors for the. forthcoming match against West Indies savours of victimisation. Judging on the season’s results Goodwin should have been one of the first players selected as he secured a good batting average, He is an excellent fieldsman and a fair bowler. It is rumoured the dropping of Goodwin is part of a plan of the selectors to discipline the players who did not see eye to eye with them. It is suggested that 6fie or two leading players will be omitted for the match.
