A MASON’S GIFT,

(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, January 8. A year ago E. S. Potter of Auckland, provided land and cottage at Pan mure for accommodation of aged Freemasons and wives, and presented the Grand .Mason Lodge with a property at Papakuna. This ho has now endowed with assets valued approximately 1 at £’50.265, for the establishment of homes for hoys under the control of the Grand Lodge. It is provided that the home shall he lor orphan sons of Freemasons, but if sufficient are unavailable, hoys ol non-Masutiic parents may qualify for admission.

The property consists of nine acres and the- assets with which it is now endowed include a business block in Queen Street close to the Town Hall, 1900 acres of farmlands and also income producing assets returning about £2OO per annum.
