THE PRIME MINISTER

OFFICIAL RECEPTION ARRANGED.

WELLINGTON, January 6

Arrangements are being completed for the official reception of the Prime -Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, who will reach Wellington from Sydney on his return from the Imperial Conference on Tuesday, January 20th. Mr and Mrs Forbes and the official party are to leave Sydney for Wellington by the Ulimaroa on January 16th.

It has been arranged that an official party comprising Ministers of the Crown will go off to the steamer on its arrivel, in the Government vessel Janie Seddon, and Mr Forbes will receive an informal welcome on board. ,»j th his party he will come ashore in the Janie Seddon after the Ulimaroa has been ispected by the port Health Officer. ,and a welcome will be extended to him by the chairman and members of the Wellington Harbour Board. It has not yet been decided whether Wellington will accord the Prime Minister a civic'reception'oil his return, but the other arrangements have more or less been settled definitely. On his return to Wellington, the Prime Minister is to go into residence at Molesworth street. House preparations are already being made lor him to take over his apartments there.
