PERTH. December 23
Scenes reminiscent off the wild, headlong rushes in the palmy days of the Ivalgoorlie gold field were recalled when Warden Geary to-day declared the Larkinville gold field open lor pegging. Recent hauls of good sized nuggets attracted keen attention to the field, and when official notification was given that the field would he declared open for pegging at a specified time prospectors from all parts of the State gathered in full strength. Immediately the warden concluded the declaration there was a wild stampede', and a forest of pegs of every siiape and size and material immediateIv arose, being ffrenziedly driven in by miners who desired to get a claim on this latest rush. As usual there will be a large number of eases of dispute to come before the warden’s court.
