HOKITIKA CYCLING CLUB

A meeting of the above was held at Keller’s rooms last evening. Present: —Messrs J. J. Williams (Chairman), J. Havill, J. Davern, T. Richards, O. Hahn, E. Best, W. Gooch, ... Collett, R. Lynn, and Secretary. The minutes were read and confirmed, outward correspondence read and approved. the Treasurer’s statement for the New Year’s Day sports showed a credit balance of £1 17s 4d. The President presented the list of donation collected ; cash, £lO Is, trophies valued at £3 13s fid. Mr It. Lynn presented a small cup. Received with thanks. Mr J. Turner donated a cup valued at £3 3s to he won three times in succession or four times at intervals.— Received with thanks. -Mr Gil I man donated a 30s medal for a road race.—Received with thanks. it was decided to hold a road race for seniors from the Pioneer Hotel to Kokatalii and hack on Saturday 17th .January. For juniors to Kauieri and back on the same date. The prizes to be, Seniors:—First, Gillman’s medal and £l. Second, E. Toohey’s trophy and 10s, Third, -ar D. Dowell’s trophy. For the juniors, First, Mrs Moore’s trophy, second 6s. Nomination fees 2s 6d and Is respectively. It was moved and carried that the Club extend to -ur A. Turtill congratulations for his ineritorous performances at the recent Canterbury meeting. : The Secretary was instructed to get into touch with the West Coast Centre to ascertain what dates were open for Easter. Mr Sutherland offered a medal for a track race in Cass Square, the Boy Scouts to take up a collection for their funds.—Received with thanks. Date to he fixed later. Moved that Mr Collett’s medal won on New Year’s Day he engraved by the Club.—Carried.
